Sparks user passes must be renewed

Important information regarding the Family Pass program for Sparks Athletic Center

As of June 1, 2017, the Department of Campus Recreation assumed management of Sparks User Passes including the Family Pass program for spouses and dependents of eligible faculty and staff.

A few changes to the renewal process and eligibility of dependents were made to ensure consistency and safety for users of Sparks Athletic Center.

Anyone currently holding a Family Pass or seeking to obtain passes must complete a pass renewal process to acquire a valid pass for Sparks Athletic Center:
— Sponsoring employees must be working at Willamette 24 hours per week (or full-time).
— Both the sponsoring employee and the family member must come in-person to Sparks Fitness Center during any open hours.
— The Sparks Staff member on duty can be found by checking the office in the fitness center or by calling 503-370-6008, which forwards to the staff member on duty.
— The sponsoring employee must present their WU ID card and the family member must present a government issued ID or proof of identification.
— The family member will complete a brief online form and then be presented with a Family Pass that is active immediately.
— Family Passes are valid from Aug. 1 through July 31 of the following year. No matter when in the year the pass is acquired, it will be valid until July 31 unless the employee leaves the university.

Dependents eligible for Family Passes must be between the ages of 18 to 23 years old and living at home.

With these changes in effect, all Family Pass holders will need to complete this process after Aug. 1, 2017 to ensure they have an active pass for the year.
