Staff and faculty advisors needed for Take A Break

Contact: Eric Lassahn

Join us for an info session on Oct. 17 at 11:30 a.m.

Take a Break (TaB) is a student-led alternative break program that places small groups of Willamette University students in Pacific Northwest communities to engage in opportunities for service and experiential learning.

TaB is currently seeking staff and faculty interested in advising a TaB trip. This student-led alternative spring break program engages in service-learning at locations including Seattle, Tacoma, Portland, Boise, the Columbia Gorge and the Oregon Coast. The program provides selected faculty and staff members with a fantastic opportunity to contribute meaningful service, while traveling alongside WU students to learn about and help address social and environmental justice issues.

While TaB Advisors are not responsible for leading or facilitating the trip, they do serve as the “voice of reason” and help oversee trip finances. Ideally, there are two advisors for each group. If you are interested in advising a TaB group, or have any questions please consider attending our informational session on Oct. 17 at 11:30 a.m. in Autzen Conference room on the 3rd floor of the University Center. Coffee and Bistro treats will be provided. To RSVP, contact Eric Lassahn <elassahn>.

These opportunities for transformative learning can’t take place without the assistance of advisors. We hope you will consider engaging in this deep and meaningful experience with our students!
