Willamette named ‘best college’ by U.S. News and World Report

by Marketing & Communications,

U.S. News and World Report named Willamette University among the best arts and science institutions in the nation for 2022.

The magazine’s annual “Best Colleges” list placed Willamette at No. 71 among a total 223 liberal arts colleges, one spot higher than last year, and No. 93 for “Best Value School,” up four spots from last year.

On the “Top Performers on Social Mobility” list — an indicator measuring how well schools graduated Pell Grant students — the university ranked No. 88, a significant improvement from previous rankings.

U.S. News and World Report assesses institutions on several measures of academic quality, including graduation and retention rates, faculty resources and alumni giving rates.
