Professor named 2019 Djerassi Artist-in-Residence

Cayla Skillin-Brauchle receives award from Djerassi Resident Artists Program.

Cayla Skillin-Brauchle will join a cadre of artists from around the world for a one-month residency at the Djerassi Resident Artists Program in the northern California Santa Cruz Mountains. As a Djerassi 2019 Artist-in-Residence, Cayla intends to further develop her work on the body as a site for performance for a new project entitled OPEN HERE that builds on her previous performance SOFT DATA. She will use the residency to further her studio practice and explore the possibilities and limitations of the body as the center of performance.

About the Program: Djerassi Resident Artists Program is an internationally-recognized residency program for visual artists, composers, choreographers, media artists, writers, and scientists. Djerassi offers month-long residencies with work and living space for artists to pursue personal creative work and interact with a small group of artists.
