June 19-July 19: YMA's (Young Musicians & Artists) mission is to provide young people with a unique personal experience in the visual and performing arts, where they share creative interests in a positive environment that builds confidence, enhances self-esteem and reinforces a sense of community. YMA’s pledge states, “We are committed to creating a safe, supportive environment for all members of our community, regardless of gender, orientation, race, color, religion, national origin, immigration status, or disability. All are welcome, and all are loved.”
June 20-30: The Young Leaders Program is for secondary students and focuses on leadership, civics, and character development that emphasizes college and career readiness.
June 23-27: Classroom Law Project is a non-profit organization of individuals, educators, lawyers, and civic leaders building strong communities by teaching students to become active citizens.
June 30-Aug 2: The Oregon Commission for the Blind is a state agency that provides services to Oregon’s citizens who experience vision loss and need specialized training and support to live full and productive lives.
July 1-Aug 3: Nitartha Institute is a unique program combining study and meditation based on a genuine and authentic lineage. All students receive Mahamudra meditation instruction and a significant portion of each day will be devoted to practice. Participants will mainly be at Kaneko Commons.
