Pacific Power Foundation funding will support a student scholarship.

The Office of Grants and Strategic Initiatives is excited to announce that the Pacific Power Foundation has awarded funding for a student scholarship. On July 16, Alan Meyer from the Pacific Power Foundation visited campus and presented a check for the scholarship to a group of Willamette students engaged in summer research. This scholarship will be awarded to a student residing in a Pacific Power service area who has financial need, who is interested in STEM, and/or is from a historically underserved group in higher education.

The Pacific Power Foundation is one of the largest utility-endowed foundations in the United States. The foundation was created in 1988 by PacifiCorp, an electric utility serving 1.8 million customers in six Western states as Rocky Mountain Power (Utah, Wyoming and Idaho) and Pacific Power (Oregon, Washington and California). The foundation’s mission, through charitable investments, is to support the growth and vitality of the communities served by Rocky Mountain Power and Pacific Power. For more information, visit or
