The award will help launch a series of new academic support programs.

The Office of Grants and Strategic Initiatives is pleased to announce an award from the Rose E. Tucker Charitable Trust that will be used to offer faculty, staff, and students new programs and trainings aimed at increasing student success: peer academic coaching, supplemental instruction, and motivational interviewing.

These new academic initiatives will benefit all Willamette students, but they have been found to be particularly effective in improving academic and cocurricular support for historically underrepresented students.

Director of Academic Support Kelvin Clark will begin planning and deploying these programs this summer, with an official launch of these new strategies in the fall.

Willamette is grateful to the Rose E. Tucker Charitable Trust for their longstanding commitment to the university.
