Daily Update
Tokyo International University of America to close temporarily
Carol Long, Provost
Dear Willamette Community,
As we know, the pandemic is impacting all individuals and organizations around the world, and it is touching us at Willamette in ways we did not imagine. I am very sad to share the news that our partners at Tokyo International University have made the decision to temporarily close operations at Tokyo International University of America due to the impacts of COVID-19.
The faculty and staff of TIUA have been an important part of our larger Willamette community for decades, and we will miss their presence on our campus in the year ahead. We value the many connections and relationships we have with TIU and will work to maintain these connections during this temporary closure so that we can find the best path forward to reestablish operations.
TIUA President Hiroshi Takahashi asked me to share this message with all of you.
We will work closely with President Takahashi and with our TIU colleagues in the months ahead to share information and ideas, and to create the best opportunities for reopening TIUA with superior programming. These times demand great vision and resilience and we are pleased to have TIU as colleagues as we imagine a transformed and strengthened future for our institutions and our collaborative relationship.
