CDC lists new COVID-19 symptoms
COVID-19 Committee
Dear Willamette community members,
As statewide responses to the COVID-19 pandemic continue to evolve and some areas relax social distancing guidelines, it’s a good time to refresh our knowledge of the symptoms caused by the virus.
The CDC recently released an expanded list of COVID-19 symptoms. People have reported a wide range ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear anywhere from 2 to 14 days after exposure to the virus.
Those with these symptoms or a combination thereof may have COVID-19:
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Or at least two of these symptoms:
- Fever
- Chills
- Repeated shaking with chills
- Muscle pain
- Headache
- Sore throat
- New loss of taste or smell
The list is not all inclusive. If you have other symptoms that are severe or concerning, please consult with your medical provider.
Take care. To our students, best wishes on your finals.
