Oregon coronavirus state of emergency extended
COVID-19 Response Team
Gov. Kate Brown signed an executive order Friday that extends Oregon's state of emergency due to the COVID-19 outbreak an additional 60 days through July 6.
This order allows the governor to issue new orders and to maintain the ones she has recently issued, including the stay-home order. The governor's spokesperson explained that Brown can lift these orders early if the situation warrants. They stressed that Oregon's gradual and incremental reopening will be based on scientific data.
As President Thorsett said in last week's "Words from Waller," here at Willamette, we will continue to work hard to ensure that plans are in place that will allow us to return to to on-campus life as quickly and safely as possible.
