Face mask requirement guidelines for on campus
Ross Stout, Director of Campus Safety
To protect the health and safety of those around us, all students and employees currently working or living on campus are required to wear either a face mask when out in public and when social distancing is not possible, including during times of brief interaction between co-workers or friends. Employees working alone in their offices and students who are alone in a room do not need to wear masks, but masks are required if you are on campus and within 6 feet of another person. We encourage you to wear a face mask immediately, however, they will be required beginning Wednesday, May 20.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have provided guidance on how to properly wear cloth face coverings. The use of a face covering can potentially slow the spread of the virus and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others.
If you do not have a face mask, Campus Safety has a limited supply. You may obtain one by contacting them at safety@willamette.edu.
