Celebrate our graduates Sunday on WU's social media

Contact: Tom Mayhall Rastrelli

Share photos and brief videos for a mega-celebration story on the @willamette_u Instagram/Facebook story from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Use #Willamette2020 on Instagram feed posts. Tag @willamette_u on your Instagram story posts. Make the posts public.

Join Sunday's celebration of the graduates by sharing social media posts with the Willamette community on Instagram. Since we can’t meet in person, help us make this day as warm, personal and festive as we can for the Class of 2020.

From 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. PDT, Willamette’s social media staff will repost photos and story posts that you share of your at-home celebrations on the @willamette_u Instagram story (which you can also view on Willamette’s Facebook story).

In order for us to find your posts and to consider sharing them to Willamette’s Instagram/Facebook story, do one of the following:

  • Use #Willamette2020 on posts to your Instagram feeds.
  • Tag @willamette_u on posts in your Instagram stories.
  • Please note: Your post must be public to enable us to share it.

Graduates are encouraged to share photos wearing your regalia or of your decorated mortar boards. Offer words of reflection or encouragement for your classmates. Make a celebratory boomerang or dance video. Videos should be no more than 10 to 15 seconds.

Community members are asked to share photos or short videos (less than 15 seconds) celebrating the graduates. Have fun and be creative. Share words of praise or a good memory. Faculty members, feel free to don your regalia.

Join our celebrations of the graduates from all three colleges Sunday on willamette.edu.
