Mid-semester break

Contact: Reopening Operations Committee

We ask students not to travel during this time. Please seek other ways to relax and recuperate without leaving the Salem area.

As a reminder, our spring semester schedule has been adapted to omit the traditional week long spring break at the end of March. The intent of this mitigation strategy is to deincentivize students’ travel to other areas, then back to campus for the remaining month and a half of the semester.

As an alternative to the weeklong spring break there will be a two-day mid-semester break March 25–26. Most importantly, we are asking that students not travel during this time, but rather find a way to relax and recuperate without leaving the Salem area.

If you are planning to leave the state for the break, please remember that the current recommendation from the Oregon Health Authority is to quarantine for 10–14 days upon your return to Oregon, which will impact your ability to attend in-person classes during that time.
