This year 36 ALTs were accepted in the Oregon, Idaho and Southern Washington area.

Last year it was 45. The number was reduced due to the pandemic. The 2020 JET participants have not yet left for Japan.

This means Willamette students consist of 11% of ALTs in this broad region. Considering the size of Willamette, this is a remarkable achievement.

Also Nicole Seymour '21, Japanese studies is on the alternate list.

Stuart Suwabe '20, international studies, is on the alternate list in the Northern California area.
