GPSS is a local on-campus tutoring program that is partnered with Salem for Refugees. We are currently looking for tutors who are kind, responsible, patient, and eager to learn. As a tutor, you will be required to attend one two-hour training session per semester to become acquainted with local refugee issues and trauma-informed care. After training, you will be paired with a local high school student and be able to teach a variety of different subjects for up to three hours per week. Tutors must be proficient enough to communicate across language and technology barriers. Tutoring appointments are currently fully online due to the ongoing COVID-19 surge and will stay online until further notice. If you have tutoring experience or are a committed and patient leader, apply to be a GPSS tutor today!
An in-depth job description is linked below along with the tutor application. Applications are due no later than Tuesday, September 27 at 11:59 p.m. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our Student Leaders Emma McEvoy <email@example.com> and Maddie Khoury <firstname.lastname@example.org>.
