Tom Mayhall Rastrelli, Willamette University’s director of digital communications, crafts the university’s story and communications via digital channels, including social media, electronic newsletters, email and the university’s website.
Before coming to Willamette, Tom was the arts and culture reporter at the Statesman Journal. He has a Master of Professional Writing from the University of Southern California, a Master of Divinity from St. Mary’s Seminary and University and a Bachelor of Theatre Arts from the University of Northern Iowa.
Tom is the recipient of a 2019 SimpsonScarborough Scholarship Award. The SimpsonScarborough Scholars program provides professional development, mentoring and other resources to promising communications and marketing practitioners in educational advancement.
Tom also enjoys writing, hiking, acting, singing, playing cards, analyzing film and television, gardening and eradicating invasive plant species.
