Insurance Plans

Willamette offers insurance plans to help fit the individual needs of its employees. Life insurance and Disability benefits are an inexpensive way to help you protect your assets and provide for your loved ones. Each plan provides different coverage level options and many of the plans provide benefits in addition to death benefits. Employees may enroll in one or more of the offered life insurance plans if they are eligible.

Group Term Life Insurance

Willamette University provides basic Group Term Life Insurance through Guardian for all eligible employees up to two (2) times the employee’s annual salary, to a maximum of $1,000,000 (amounts over $600,000 are subject to Evidence of Insurability). The University pays the entire cost of this coverage and is automatic for all eligible employees who are .75 annualized FTE or greater. Voluntary Life/AD&D Insurance

Eligible employees may purchase additional Voluntary Life Insurance of up to five (5) times the employee’s annual salary, with a maximum of $600,000. Voluntary Life Insurance also allows for coverage of an employee’s spouse/domestic partner and eligible dependent children. Spousal coverage is to a maximum of $250,000; dependent child coverage is to a maximum of $10,000. [Read more]

Long-Term Disability (LTD)

Willamette University provides Long-Term Disability (LTD) insurance through Guardian. The group Long Term Disability (LTD) insurance is designed to replace a substantial part of lost income in the event of total disability. The University pays the entire cost of this coverage and is automatic for all eligible employees who are .75 annualized FTE or greater. Benefits Eligibility

Available to employees who work at least 75% of a full-time schedule annually.
