COVID-19 Vaccine and Implementation

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Willamette has worked to ensure our community’s health and safety by implementing a number of mitigation strategies to prevent the spread of COVID-19. In support of our continued commitment to protecting the members of our community, we have developed a COVID-19 Vaccine Policy which requires, with limited exceptions, that all students, faculty, and staff planning to attend or work at Willamette in the Fall 2021 semester must be fully vaccinated.

Confirmation of Vaccination:
Due July 19, 2021

Employees (faculty and staff) are required to provide confirmation of vaccination by July 19, to ensure employees are fully vaccinated by August 2, 2021. Confirmation of vaccination should be entered in Workday, including the brand of vaccine and vaccine administration dates. The process for entering vaccine confirmation takes just a few minutes. Follow the steps outlined in this Job Aid for Workday.

Request for Exemption from Vaccine Requirement:
Due June 15, 2021

Medical Exemption:

Employees may request a medical exemption from the requirement for the COVID-19 vaccine by having their healthcare provider complete the Medical Certification for COVID-19 Vaccine Exemption. Completed certifications should be sent to Mike Long, Benefits Manager, by fax at (503) 370-6570 or by email to mdlong@willamette.edu.

Non-Medical Exemption:

Employees may request a non-medical (e.g., religious) exemption from the requirement for the COVID-19 vaccine by completing the online Request for Non-Medical Exemption from COVID-19 Vaccine. Note that non-medical and non-religious exemptions will be carefully considered by the University, but only granted in exceptional circumstances.
