Leandra has been involved with organizations focusing on activism surrounding racism, sexism, and heterosexism. While at WU, she mentored at Chemawa Indian School and Mosaics. Her experiences with CAUSA raised her consciousness about immigration and how citizenship intersects with sexuality and gender. Leandra became involved in both environmental justice work as well as spoken word poetry through her involvement with OPAL (Organizing People, Activating Leaders). Leandra hopes to work in Portland, her hometown.
