First generation faculty, students, and administrators will be attending the reception and are excited to meet you. This is your chance to meet other "First in Family" students and families and get your questions answered from others who understand the unique experience and opportunities for first generation college students.

Shobi Dahl '05 is an entrepreneur and the co-founder and former CEO of Dave’s Killer Bread, a company whose beliefs are built on the idea of second chances that has grown to become the nation's best-selling organic bread brand with widespread distribution across the U.S. and Canada. A 2005 graduate of Willamette University, Shobi helped grow the family bakery from 30 to 300 employees with fully one third of those employees being ex-cons.Families are welcome to join the faculty and administration as the Willamette community formally opens the 2019-2020 academic year. Students will sit with their classmates. All first-year students are required to attend.

Shobi Dahl '05 is an entrepreneur and the co-founder and former CEO of Dave’s Killer Bread, a company whose beliefs are built on the idea of second chances that has grown to become the nation's best-selling organic bread brand with widespread distribution across the U.S. and Canada. A 2005 graduate of Willamette University, Shobi helped grow the family bakery from 30 to 300 employees with fully one third of those employees being ex-cons.Families are welcome to join the faculty and administration as the Willamette community formally opens the 2019-2020 academic year.
