Hallie Ford Museum of Art Closure
The Hallie Ford Museum of Art at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon will be closed effective Monday, March 16, 2020 in an effort to further stem the spread of COVID-19. The galleries remain open this weekend. The closure is expected to extend through Sunday, April 12, 2020. The official reopening date will be determined according to community health developments and recommendations from federal, state, and local officials.
Following the recommendation from the State of Oregon and the Oregon Health Authority, all public programs, gallery talks, field trips, tours, events, and rentals have been cancelled through April 12, 2020. “We hate to close our galleries and cancel our programs,” stated museum director John Olbrantz, “ but the threat of of the spread of COVID-19 is too great to take lightly. It’s not worth the risk to our visitors, members, staff, students, and others. We’ll get through this current crisis together and I look forward to reopening the Hallie Ford Museum of Art when the health risk has passed.”
