Alianza Diversity Scholarship

Deadline: Thursday, April 11th at 11:59pm

Alianza's mission statement: Promote Latinx culture as well as empower the Latinx community in an effort to succeed in higher education. This scholarship is for students who have demonstrated work that aligns with Alianza’s mission statement. Two awards of $300 each will be given to two students, one from each area.


  • Applicant must be a graduating senior from a high school in the Woodburn or Salem-Keizer area
  • Applicant must be of Hispanic/Latinx heritage
  • Applicant must enroll at least half-time as a student at a two- or four-year public or private, accredited post-secondary institution in the United States in the fall of 2018
  • Undocumented/DACAmented students are strongly encouraged to apply

Essay Topics (Please choose ONE):

  1. How have you positively impacted the Latino community in the past, and how do you plan to continue your service in the future?
  2. If you had the authority to change your community in a positive way, what specific changes would you make?
  3. How has your identity impacted and/or influenced your educational goals?

This scholarship essay has a 500 word limit.


  • Application Form (filled out completely)
    • Provide two references (counselor, coach, teacher, supervisor, etc.)
  • Essay (no more than 500 words, double-spaced, with your name in the top right corner)
  • High School Transcript (Official or unofficial copy)
  • Activities resume (one page)
    • Please include volunteer experience, extracurricular activities, work experience, family responsibilities, etc.
  • EMAIL all application materials to as PDF or Word documents.
