Mission
The Willamette University Residence Hall Association is dedicated to providing engaging programs, leadership opportunities and advocacy for our on-campus residents. The organization is committed to cultivating an altruistic community through a devotion to respect and social justice. RHA values the individual development of lasting friendships, personal responsibility, balance, and emotional growth towards authenticity.
RHA is a way to centralize student leadership opportunities within the residence halls and provide opportunities to connect with leaders from other institutions through PACURH (Pacific Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls) & NACURH (National Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls).
History
Willamette's RHA was founded in 2014 to replace the hall councils that had previously served as the University's residential governance system. Student interest in creating a space to hear the voice of on-campus residents led to the adoption of the parliamentary system the Association uses today. In the years since, RHA's Board of Directors and General Assembly have worked to better the residential community they live in and create an ever-stronger organization for those who will follow in their footsteps.
