- Major: Environmental Science (Chinese and Biology Minor)
- Hometown: Born in Zhanjiang, Guangdong, China (currently lives in Sacramento, CA)
- Extracurriculars:
- I am the main Project Lead for the Growing Oaks project, which is funded through the Willamette CAFES grant. Follow the project on Instagram: @wugrowingoaks
- I am also involved in various on-campus clubs, like CTCA and Climate Action Alliance.
- I am also a Heather Dempsey Environmental Science Scholar.
- Favorite Classes:
- Plant Systematics (This is my favorite class because I love plants! taught by Professor Briana Lindh)
- Political Ecology (taught by Professor Melinda Butterworth)
- Research in Dendrochronology (taught by retired Professor Karen Arabas)
- Favorite place on campus: The Mill Stream outside of the University Center. It’s a great place to eat lunch, hang out with friends, and get some fresh air! Also, it is super close to the Bistro if I need to get my coffee and cookie fix for the day!
- Favorite place off-campus: I love coffee, and I found a few places around campus (Caffe Capri, Isaac’s, and Ike Box) that have great coffee. If they have good wifi, delicious pastries, and great coffee, you can find me there!
Fun facts
- I was born in China and immigrated to the US when I was 5 years old.
- I LOVE food. (If y’all need food recs, let me know! I know lots of amazing food places in Salem!)
- HUGE Avatar: The Last Airbender fan (if you don’t know this show, please watch it. You’ll enjoy it, I promise!)
- I’m also a HUGE Marvel fan (side note: I do Marvel trivia quizzes online when I’m bored. #TeamCap)
- I currently have 4 tattoos, but I am planning on getting a few more!
