Biography

Tamara Palmer graduated with honors from Willamette University College of Law in January of 2021 and received a Law & Business Certificate. She also has a B.S. in Chemistry from Portland State University, and a Masters in Teaching from the University of Southern California.

Prior to becoming an attorney, she had careers as a chemist and then as a high school mathematics teacher. In her work as a scientist, Tamara is most gratified by her recognition for constructive problem-solving, and for bringing diverse groups together to build consensus on difficult and divisive issues. As an educator, Tamara was committed to developing pedagogical practices that supported learning for all students, especially traditionally underserved populations. At Willamette, Tamara was active in diverse student organizations, served as a research assistant for scholarly topics in patent and IP law, and clerked with Oregon School Boards Association in Salem, Oregon.

Tamara is admitted to the Oregon State Bar and to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She is currently working in her dream job as a Patent Attorney for Brown Rudnick. Tamara credits the support, encouragement, and high expectations of the Willamette University College of Law’s faculty and staff for the transformative experience she had in law school. She hopes to remain connected to and involved in the Business Lawyering Institute and WUCL in a way that helps other students on their journey.
