Biography
Professor Sandrik's research focuses on the intersection of commercial law and intellectual property law. Most recently, her writing seeks to address problems within patent law, specifically patent licensing, patent damages, and innovation incentives, by employing the lens of contract law and the Uniform Commercial Code. Sandrik's teaching reflects this research interest. She teaches contracts, secured transactions, sales, deals, IP law, patent law, and IP transfer and commercialization. In addition to her teaching and research, Professor Sandrik is Co-Director of the Business Lawyering Institute and Director of the Certificate Program in Law and Business.
Before joining the Willamette University College of Law faculty, Sandrik was a visiting assistant professor at the Florida State University College of Law. While at FSU, Sandrik taught contracts, sales, IP law, and IP licensing. Prior to entering academia, Sandrik was an associate in the intellectual property practice group at Troutman Sanders LLP (Atlanta). Her practice focused on intellectual property disputes and complex litigation in federal courts, with special emphasis on patent licensing and litigation.
Sandrik attended the Florida State University College of Law, graduating with honors and as a member of the Order of the Coif. She also served as the senior articles editor of the FSU Law Review. Before law school, Sandrik played Division I soccer at Mississippi State University and was a member of the U-23 U.S. Women’s National Team. She graduated summa cum laude from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
