Study Abroad Program: Australia

Study Abroad Trip: Australia

GSM 726IG ‘Global Management in Australia’ — Fall Semester, 2023

Trip Dates: January 7-13, 2024. We will visit Melbourne and Sydney.

There are two versions of this class. Students choose the version that suits their needs.

4-credit version: Class meets on five Saturdays; students help design and plan the trip

1-credit version: Class meets on two Saturdays, for an orientation and final debriefing

Class Dates:

  • Saturday, September 23 (only 4-credit students)
  • Saturday, October 14 (only 4-credit students)
  • Saturday, November 18 (only 4-credit students)
  • Saturday, December 9 (all students)
  • Saturday, January 27 (all students)

All classes meet 9:00am to 1:00pm. One or two classes may be shorter, depending on progress on projects and other class activities.

Application Deadline: September 8, 2023

Full Program Fee Deadline: September 15, 2023

Refund Deadline: September 25, 2023 (no refunds after this date)

Itinerary: We will visit 4 to 6 companies and 3 cultural sites

Estimated Cost

Program Fee:

$1,950 for the 4-credit class (assuming a minimum of 15 students)

$2,450 for the 1-credit class (assuming a minimum of 15 students)

Airfare: $1,800 (estimated)

Additional Costs: $400 (estimated; typically meals and shopping)

Single Room: $TBD (optional)

This program is capped at 24 students.

GSM 726IG ‘Global Management in France and the European Union— Spring Semester, 2024

Trip Dates: March 24-30, 2024. We will be based in Paris.

1-credit version: Class meets on two Saturdays, for an orientation and final debriefing

  • Saturday, February 3 (only 4-credit students)
  • Saturday, February 17 (only 4-credit students)
  • Saturday, March 2 (only 4-credit students)
  • Saturday, March 16 (all students)
  • Saturday, April 13 (all students)

All Study Abroad Programs

Course Information

GSM 726IG is a 4-credit or a 1-credit, graded course. Credit for this course will count toward graduation requirements. Students choose the 4-credit version or the 1-credit version, depending on their needs and interests.

  • Professors: Gary Knight and Ashley Nixon
  • Prerequisites: One semester of Willamette MBA coursework and good academic and conduct standing required.
  • Tuition: The Program Fee covers the trip cost only and does not include tuition. There is no tuition charge for the 1-credit class. For the 4-credit class, standard tuition charges will apply.
  • Attendance: Course requires attendance and participation in class sessions prior to and following the trip.

Costs

  • Program Fee: Includes in-country travel and transportation; double-occupancy hotel rooms (7 nights); breakfasts and one dinner. Program Fee will be direct-billed to your student account upon confirmation of program participation. Students requesting a single-occupancy room will be charged an additional fee. Students are separately responsible for airfare, meals not included in the Program Fee, non-program transportation fees, insurance, etc.
  • Refunds: There will be no refunds after the published date due to contracts with our study abroad supplier partners.
  • Financial Aid: The Program Fee and airfare may be covered by Financial Aid. Please contact Shanan Woods in the WU Financial Aid Office for more information.

Passport and Visa Information

  • A valid passport with an expiration date no sooner than six months after the program dates is required.
  • Students considering the Study Abroad are encouraged to apply for or update their passports at the earliest opportunity.
  • Students are responsible for checking Visa requirements for the destination countries. We can assist you.
