Campus Climate Study

In February 2019, Willamette administered its first University wide climate study.

The Higher Education Data Sharing Consortium (HEDS) helped administer a survey which asked students, faculty, staff, and administrators about their:

  • Perceptions of Willamette’s climate,
  • Perceptions of how Willamette supports diversity and equity, and
  • Experiences with discrimination and harassment at Willamette.

The survey was administered to everyone in the campus community – faculty, staff, administrators, and students. The Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion will use the information from this survey to better understand the extent to which our campus climate supports diversity and equity, and to inform and improve support, policies, and practices at our institution related to diversity and equity, including those to prevent or respond to discrimination and harassment.

In the Fall of 2019, the Office of Diversity Equity and Inclusion engaged in forum-style presentations and discussions that shared the findings of the study with the Willamette community. The final report can be found here:
