In this module, you will learn how to assemble a diode laser. You will measure its power output and wavelength as a function of temperature and current, and you will turn it into an Extended Cavity Diode Laser (ECDL). ECDLs find applications in fundamental research studying atom/light interaction since they have a narrow and finely tunable wavelength that is ideal to "talk" to atoms. (12 hour lab)
