Bio

Ketzia Schoneberg is a contemporary American artist working in sculpture, painting and drawing. Her feminist autobiographical works investigate elements from her dream life, longstanding meditation practice and cultural background, while centering her interest in wildlife and environmental concerns to create an esoteric interplay of characters and narratives. The artist’s studio practice invokes movement-based plays of power, the erotic, sensuality and familial relationship. Figurative and abstract elements, vivid color and loose mark making are hallmarks of her figurative expressionist works on Dura-lar mylar and Yupo paper. She uses acrylic, graphite, pastel, wax crayon, charcoal, ceramics and the written word in her studio practice.

Schoneberg’s work has been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the United States. Born in Los Angeles, the artist grew up in San Francisco and is currently living and working in the Pacific Northwest.
