Yellow Ribbon Program

The Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program (Yellow Ribbon Program) is a provision of the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008. This program allows institutions of higher learning in the United States to voluntarily enter into an agreement with the VA to fund tuition expenses that exceed the highest public in-state undergraduate tuition rate.

Willamette University agrees to fund students who qualify for the Yellow Ribbon program with institutional funding, according to the limitations and deadlines listed below for each college or professional school.

Please note that the award amounts listed below represent maximum amounts, so your individual award amount could be less. Please also note that any institutional grant or scholarship funding that you have already been offered will count first toward meeting Willamette’s obligation for the Yellow Ribbon program, so you may not be awarded additional Willamette dollars for Yellow Ribbon. However, you will still benefit from participating in the program because you will have access to the additional Yellow Ribbon dollars from the VA.
