Teachers are invited to an Evening for Educators

Educators are invited to join Elizabeth Garrison, The Cameron Paulin Curator of Education, for a preview of the exhibition, “Roger Shimomura: An American Knockoff” at the Hallie Ford Museum of Art on Tuesday, Jan. 27 from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. This workshop is designed to help teachers prepare students for a field trip to the exhibition, as well as broaden curriculum concepts for use in the classroom. The exhibition continues through March 29. Advance registration for this free workshop is required by Jan. 26 by calling 503-370-6855.

Additional resources for educators
A teacher guide will include images from the exhibition, background information and suggested discussions. This will be available on-line at www.willamette.edu/go/ancient after Jan. 27, 2015.

Transportation stipend
Thanks to a generous donation, a limited number of transportation stipends (in the form of a reimbursement) are available on a first come, first-served basis to fund half the cost of your K-12 bus trip to and from the museum.

Schedule a tour
There is no cost for self-guided or docent-guided school tours, but teachers must schedule in advance. Please note that a limited number of guided tours will be offered for groups of 30 or less. To schedule a tour call 503-370-6855.
