Duke University Funding Opportunities: Searchable resource provided by Duke's Office of Research Support and Office of Research Administration; includes information on funding sources for research and other scholarly projects.

Foundation Directory Online, developed by the Foundation Center, provides the most current, accurate, and comprehensive information available on U.S. grantmakers and their grants, drawn from reliable sources, including IRS Form 990s, grantmaker web sites and annual reports, and the grantmakers themselves. GrantsNet: A searchable, continuously updated, database of funding opportunities in biomedical research and undergraduate science education sponsored by the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Listserv available at grantsnet-l-request@listserv.aaas.org

Humanities and Social Sciences Net (H-Net) Funding Announcements: H-Net creates and coordinates Internet networks for research in the arts, humanities, and social sciences.

The Art of Online Calls for Entry (CaFÉTM): Managed by the Western States Arts Federation, CaFÉTM serves artists across the United States and offers weekly e-mails with new calls for entry and artist award opportunities.  

Michigan State University Libraries: Grants and related resources, organized by disciplines and kept relatively current. Also general information on writing proposals and grant research.

Oregon Arts Commission: Receive OregonArts listserv announcements, including OAC grant program announcements.

Philanthropy News Digest (PND), a daily news service of the Foundation Center, is a compendium, in digest form, of philanthropy-related articles and features culled from print and electronic media outlets nationwide, via the PND e-newsletter or PND RSS Feeds.

Major Federal Agency Searches

Grants.gov: Search and find competitive grant opportunities from most Federal grant-making agencies. For ALL published calls, including Federal agencies that do not subscribe to grants.gov, search the Federal Register. Subscribe to email alerts at http://www.grants.gov/applicants/email_subscription.jsp

National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH): NEH supports research, education, preservation, and public programs in the humanities. They sponsor an active Digital Humanities Initiative listserv that provides insight into their funding priorities.

National Endowment for the Arts (NEA): NEA supports nine disciplines in the arts and arts education, including literature, poetry, preservation, access, and translation.

US Department of Education (ED): Search the Forecast of Funding Opportunities for upcoming RFPs.

National Institutes of Health (NIH): U.S. Departments of Health and Human Services' funding opportunities for medical and behavioral research. Sign up for the Weekly NIH Funding Opportunities and Notices listserv.

National Science Foundation (NSF)
: NSF awards grants for research and education in the sciences, mathematics, and engineering. National Science Foundation Update allows you to receive notifications about new content posted on the NSF website. Notification can be received via email or RSS.
