Graduates of Willamette University can continue to use their Network Accounts up to one year after graduation. This provides ample time to migrate mail & other content away from Willamette. After one year the account is deleted and all account data removed. Information below will help with some of the most important steps with the transition of email & other content.

Email:

Migrating email. Instructions for copying your email en masse to another email account can be found here: Migrating Gmail Instructions

Forwarding email. Getting any new messages to send to a new account, as well as customize what goes and what doesn't: Forwarding Gmail Messages

Vacation message. Use the vacation message feature of Gmail to inform others of a change of address. Vacation Reply

Unlinking any other online accounts. Many students have used their Willamette University email address to sign-up for other online services: Facebook, Linked-In, billing information for fraternity/sorority dues, etc. It is important to update any of these services with a new email address prior to the expiration of the Willamette email account.

Other content:

Google Calendar information, Contacts, etc. It is possible to download and keep much of the information held within other Google services. Each app has an import/export option under Settings.  Simply export your calendar, contacts list, or other content to a file on your hard drive.  Import them into a personal Gmail account or other application like Outlook.

Netfiles. Downloading the contents of the H: Drive. Students who have made use of the Personal Share (Netfiles), may wish to keep copies of the files stored there. For off-campus access to your H drive, you'll need to use an FTP application: Network File Storage
