Office of Student Affairs
The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) provides comprehensive support for law students. This office is where students conduct most of their daily business -- turning in Legal Research and Writing assignments, registering for classes, scheduling rooms for student organization events, and rescheduling examinations -- just to name a few. The OSA also oversees registration for law courses, administering examinations, and Commencement in the spring.
How to Waive the University Student Health Insurance. If you already have comparable health insurance coverage and would like to opt out of the University issued student health insurance, visit the Bishop Health Student Insurance web page. The Fall 2015 deadline to opt-out of the student health insurance is Monday, September 15, 2014 by 5:00pm.
Parking Permits. If you ordered your parking permit from Campus Safety, it will be delivered to the OSA within 2-3 working days for you to pick up from our office. Parking permits are not required in the general parking lots until Wednesday, August 27th. Permits are required for the reserved parking lots at all times.
Locker Items. Each summer lockers are cleaned out and combinations are re-keyed. Every August locker assignments are issued to incoming 1L, LLM, & MLS students. Any other students who wish to have a locker may sign up for one during the first week of classes at the OSA starting with the first day of classes. Locker contents will be held in the OSA for student pick up until Friday, September 5th. Thereafter, any unclaimed items will be either donated or discarded.
Summer Mailing Addresses. Please make sure to update your mailing address with the "Fusser Guide Update" link via JASON.
Fall 2014 Registration. WebAdvisor is open all summer for students to make adjustments to their schedules until Friday, August 22, 2014 at 12:00 noon.
Class Attendance Tracking. The attendance tracking in JASON is recorded weekly as we receive attendance sheets from the faculty; however, it is ultimately the student's responsibility to track attendance, as reporting in JASON may not always be up to date.
If you find a discrepancy in the records (for example, if you were marked absent on a day that you were in class), email or contact the professor to ask them to notify the OSA to correct the attendance date in question. We can only make a correction if the request is from the Professor. If you know you were absent on a certain date, but JASON doesn't reflect it, please contact either the professor or the OSA to see if the attendance sheets have been turned in for the class in question.
OSA Notary Policy Change. Effective July 1, 2013, the OSA notary services are limited to WUCL students and graduates for purposes of application to state bar examinations.
