Biography
Mike Wright, creative director, provides thought leadership and creative vision for the university. He is responsible for developing visual concepts and overseeing their integrity, appropriateness, coordination and implementation within all public communications. This includes, but is not limited to, development of images, themes, logos and other visuals relating to identifying and marketing the university and its programs and events.
Before coming to Willamette University, Wright worked as creative director, art director and graphic designer at a few advertising and design agencies in the mid-Willamette valley. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Communication from Oregon State University and is a current member of the University and College Designers Association and the Chemeketa Community College Visual Communication Advisory Board.
Wright and the creative team have earned numerous CASE District VIII awards through the years and a National PRSA award for their work around the 2017 total solar eclipse events and Sun vs. Moon collateral.
In his spare time, Wright enjoys being outdoors, participating in community activities and spending time with his family.
