Biography
Lauren joined Willamette University as the director of communications in 2023. In her role, she plans and manages the university's strategic communications, media and public relations programs. Her work is focused on sharing the stories of Willamette's people, programs and achievements with both internal and external audiences.
In her previous work, Lauren worked for the Oregon Department of Transportation to lead communication for one of the biggest and most successful technology replacement programs in the state’s history. Her industry-leading outreach for the Oregon DMV has been recognized by the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators. In the private sector, Lauren worked in public relations with WE Communications to launch and promote products for some of the largest corporations in the world, including Microsoft.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Chapman University. She is a certified Prosci change practitioner.
Outside of the office, Lauren volunteers on her local library board and has a passion for supporting early literacy work and the role it plays in overall student success. She enjoys spending time with her family exploring all the bounty the Willamette Valley has to offer.
