Student Learning Outcomes for the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

  1. Majors should develop an ability to design experiments from the ground up, and should be able to work collaboratively on investigations.
  2. Majors should be able to draw appropriate and reasonable conclusions from the data they collect in the laboratory.
  3. Majors should be able to creatively use the process of science to explore the molecular systems at the interface of chemistry and biology.
  4. Majors should be able to define and solve problems within chemistry and biology, using tools learned from both disciplines.
  5. A successful graduate should be able to communicate in a variety of formats commonly used by scientists.
