Requirements for the Business Major

(67–68 Semester Hours)

The BS in Business requires 56 semester hours in Business (12 required courses, 1 major internship, and 1 experiential elective), and a minimum of 12 semester hours in cognate disciplines.

  • DATA 151 Introduction to Data Science (4) or BUS 1301: Managing with Data, Analytics, and AI (4)
  • One statistics course (4): DATA 152 or MATH 138
  • ECON 112 Economics for Business (4), ECON 115 Production, Distribution, and Power in Contemporary Economics (4), or equivalent

Requirements for the Business Minor

(20 Semester Hours)

The business minor can be paired with any College of Arts & Sciences major, complementing the Willamette liberal arts experience with professional training in management and powerful tools that employers value.

The business minor is comprised of five courses, introducing students to the fundamentals of management and managerial disciplines — leadership, accounting, organizations, finance, and marketing.
