IEOR 199 Topics in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research

A semester-long study of topics in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research. Topics and emphases will vary according to the instructor. This course may be repeated for credit with different topics. See the section details for descriptions and applicability to graduation requirements.

IEOR 251 Foundations of Industrial Engineering

Introduce students to the wide variety of engineering disciplines, emphasizing how their functions differ across different settings.View manufacturing processes as a system, characterizing the interdependencies and sources of variation.Use fundamental IEOR concepts to identify areas of inefficiency in a system .

IEOR 252 Computer-Aided System Design

Introduction to CADsoftware; 2D drawingfundamentals; 3DModeling Basics;Technical Standards andDrawing Output

IEOR 352 Simulation-Based Modeling

Topics: Quantifying Randomness; Simulating from Distributions; Systems-level DiscreteEvent Modeling; Monte Carlo Analyses; FlexSim or Arena software

IEOR 421W Capstone 1

This four-credit seminar invites students to cultivate a practice of collaborative problem solving and project development. Students work as teams to develop proposals and action plans. The bulk of the semester's work will be organized around developing a project that requires integration and application of knowledge and skills acquired in earlier course work.

IEOR 422 Capstone 2

This four-credit seminar invites students to support the deployment of a major project as a team. It is the continuation of the development within IEOR 421W to an actually existing project.
