Curriculum
There are three levels in the Leadership for Managers program to be taken in order: Bronze, Silver, and Gold Badges. Each level builds on management practices, helping participants effectively manage and lead their teams. You can join a subsequent cohort and do not need to complete all three badges in one academic year.
-
-
In the silver-level program, we explore an expanded set of critical skills required to manage and be managed. Expect to cover topics such as teamwork, motivation, decision-making, data analytics, processes, projects, and talent.
-
In the gold-level program, we focus on broader organizational issues to develop your management skills. We'll discuss topics such as performance management, day-to-day management, change, ethics, and self-management.
Our program offers a live online interactive cohort format where learners can build relationships with each other. To earn a badge, learners must meet the following expectations each week for six consecutive weeks:
- Read a module and prepare a short entry ticket (1 hour)
- Attend and participate in a one-hour synchronous online class with your cohort (1 hour)
- Complete an application exercise individually or with a cohort member (1 hour)

How Our Program Works
Our lessons are based around the management book, Be(Come) an Awesome Manager: The Essential Toolkit for Impact Leadership. We offer three program levels, each lasting six weeks. Program levels take place in October-November, January-February, and March-April. Build real-world skills that can help you become a better leader, manager, and effective employee.
-
We deliver a hybrid HR learning experience through self-study, a series of six online classes, and practical applications. We expect a commitment of three hours a week: one hour for preparation, one hour for the webinar, and one hour for practical application.
-
Our program offers small class sizes for teamwork and networking. We have a maximum of 25 learners per cohort to ensure students get valuable feedback and coaching from the instructor. We use a fluid learning model to develop your soft skills and adapt to the needs of the group.
The cost is $599 for a six-week class and includes all resource materials through our learning portal. Willamette University alums, Global HR Consortium, and The HR Roundtable member companies can enroll at $499. Each badge lasts six weeks and students are encouraged to take all three badges consecutively.

To earn your badge you must complete the pre-work, attend the Zoom sessions on camera, and complete the post-class assignments. Each badge consists of six modules and there are three badges to earn: bronze, silver, and gold.
