Build expertise in accounting and finance at the same time, in a full-time, on-campus program. You can apply with an undergraduate degree in any major. Work experience is welcome, but not required.

To be eligible for admission, you must have an undergraduate degree (any field) and completed coursework (or equivalent) in the following areas:

  • Economics
  • Managerial Finance
  • Statistics
  • Accounting Principles

MS in Accounting & Finance Application Requirements

Your application must include the materials below:

Use the online application to submit your general information, personal statement, and references. You can save your work and return anytime.

You may upload unofficial transcripts for an initial admission decision. If admitted, you will be required to submit official transcripts from each institution previously attended. Official transcripts may be emailed to mba-admission@willamette.edu, or mailed to: Willamette University, Atkinson Graduate School of Management, 900 State Street, Salem, OR 97301. Official transcripts submitted directly from applicants must be received in a sealed envelope and must display the appropriate official signature and/or seal of the transcript institution. Transcripts from institutions outside of the U.S. must be in English or accompanied by an official English translation of the transcript.

Provide the names and contact information for two people who can speak to your academic readiness, leadership, and character (for example: professors, supervisors, mentors, or project leads). Recommendations from family members are not accepted. Your recommenders will receive a link to submit their recommendation.

Include employment (if any), internships, leadership, research, community involvement, awards, co-curriculars, and notable achievements.

Test scores are optional. You may choose to submit scores if you think they add helpful academic context to your application. If your undergraduate GPA is below 3.0, consider submitting a test score to strengthen your application.

All materials submitted as part of the application process become the property of Willamette University and cannot be returned.

Deadline Information

Our MS in Accounting and Finance deadlines are as follows:

  • Application Opens: Sept. 1
  • Early Action Deadline and Decision Release: Dec. 15/Jan. 15
  • Priority 1 Deadline and Decision Release: Feb. 15/March 15
  • Priority 2 Deadline and Decision Release: April 15/May 15
  • Final Deadline and Decision Release: May 15/June 15

After May 15, we accept applications on a rolling basis as space is available.
