Willamette University School of Law offers an advanced legal education through its LLM program, designed for those who have already completed a Juris Doctor (JD) at an ABA-accredited American law school or its equivalent from a foreign law school. Our LLM program provides specialized legal knowledge and skills, with the opportunity to concentrate in one of six areas of law.

How to Apply for the LLM Program

Admission to the LLM program is determined by our Admission Committee, which carefully reviews each application to ensure a fair evaluation. The committee considers several factors, including your law school records, proof of English proficiency if applicable, letters of recommendation, and professional achievements.

  • Application Process

All applicants must apply through the Law School Admission Council (LSAC), which manages the electronic application process for Willamette's LLM program. Visit the LSAC LLM website for detailed instructions on how to submit your application.

  • When to Apply

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, meaning decisions are made as applications are received. However, to ensure the best chance of admission, we encourage prospective students to apply as early as possible, as seats are limited.

Application Materials & Requirements

Scholarships

Willamette University School of Law offers partial merit scholarships to highly qualified students entering the LLM program.
