Learn to lead through utility management training
In this 10-day course, participants learn about the utilities industry and develop important skills for utility management roles. The program offers instructors who are subject matter experts with vast experience in their field. From professional trainers to game-changing professors, all the program instructors have expertise in their given topic.
Students will gain a broad view and better understand the business side of utilities. Discover more about utility infrastructure and understand how each function integrates into the bigger picture. Topics will include:
- Utility strategy
- Utility finance and budgeting
- Utility resource planning
- Customer engagement issues
- Rate design and rate setting regulation
- Stakeholder relations and negotiations
- Strategic thinking and planning
- Leadership development training and ethics
- Executive presentation skills
- Practical experience
Through interactive case discussions, simulations and exercises based on case studies of real utilities, students gain skills they can use right away. Participants will increase their effectiveness and add more value for their employers. When four or more students come from the same utility, they can complete the final strategic plan exercise together. This offers more practical takeaways that companies can apply right away.
The program is also available to participants from different utilities, exposing scholars to a larger network of their peers. Not only will students learn from their instructors, but they will also learn from other class members.
