1. General Information
When is Alumni Reunion Weekend 2023?
The weekend is set for June 15-18.
Who is invited?
All alumni – from every school, every class year, degree or non-degree – are invited. This is a celebration of all things Willamette with something for everyone. Special programming is provided for those celebrating a reunion year (classes ending in a 3 or an 8).
Who is coming?
Check online to see who's coming.
Can I just show up on campus for Alumni Reunion Weekend?
We strongly encourage you to pre-register to receive an "early bird" discount. This will also guarantee your ability to attend as space is limited due to the popularity of the weekend's events.
How is Willamette handling COVID-19 for Alumni Reunion Weekend?
The health and safety of our Alumni Weekend guests is our highest priority. We are following all state of Oregon public health guidelines.
2. Children & Childcare
Should I bring my child and is there childcare?
Please keep in mind that activities are specifically planned for adults and that childcare will not be available on campus. Children under 18 must be escorted and supervised at all times by a parent, legal guardian or another authorized adult. It is the responsibility of the parent, legal guardian or another authorized adult to make appropriate off-campus arrangements if children cannot be accompanied at all times while on campus. We hope families will consider joining us for Willamette Family Weekend and Homecoming for an all-ages weekend in October.
3. Registration & Prices
How do I register?
Online registration has closed for Alumni Reunion Weekend 2023. However, you can still show up and register for events! Stop by the first floor of the Putnam University Center to register in person.
I registered and paid online, but my name is not on the Look Who's Coming list. Why is this?
Registrations are updated at the end of each business day. Due to the volume of registrations, your registration may not have been processed yet. We work quickly to process all registrations as we recognize how exciting it is to see who from your class is attending. Some registrants may choose to exclude themselves from the public list. Please contact alumni@willamette.edu and we will make sure to include your name!
4. Changes & Cancellations
Can I change my registration?
Yes! Call the Office of Alumni Engagement at 503-375-5304 and we will assist you.
What if I need to cancel my registration?
Cancellations will be accepted with full refunds of all payments to Willamette University minus a $15 non-refundable cancellation fee, until May 22. Due to the costs associated with catering and event planning, refunds will not be offered after May 22.
Cashless Events
There will be opportunities to purchase items during the weekend. Please note that some venues are card only, and some prefer cash. The Bistro is cashless. Both the Bookstore and Goudy Cafeteria accept cards or cash. We just added a new event, Party in the Streets! If you want to sign up for the Party in the Streets, you can pay at the door with cash ($10). The bar for Friday Night's Party in the Streets prefers cash.
5. Lodging - Where Should I Stay?
On-Campus Lodging
If you reserved a space to stay on campus, you can check in at the same place you pick up registration materials. Your on-campus lodging comes with bedding, towels and pillows. Remember to bring your own toiletries like soap, shampoo and your shower shoes. You may choose to bring an extra blanket if you sleep cold.
If you plan to arrive after check-in hours or have ADA requests, please contact the Office of Alumni Engagement at 503-375-5304 or alumni@willamette.edu before May 31.
Off-Campus Lodging
We’ve reserved blocks of rooms in Salem at the Grand Hotel, Best Western Mill Creek Inn and the Holman Riverfront Park Hotel. Visit the accommodations page for details.
You may also wish to use Airbnb.com, Tripping.com to search for affordable rentals in Salem or check out other hotel options. Willamette has not vetted or endorsed these locations.
6. Transportation & Parking
How do I get to campus?
Information about Groome Transportation (formerly HUT Shuttle) service between PDX and Salem.
Where do I park?
Parking will be available in the Sparks lot on the southeast side of campus and in the Atkinson lot at the corner of Winter and Mill Streets. There will also be metered street parking available on State Street (enforced on weekdays, free on weekends). Winter Street will be closed. See campus map for a visual.
Those with handicapped placards may park at the meters on State Street for free anytime.
Please do not park in spaces marked reserved or in fire lanes and loading areas.
What do I do if I have special mobility needs?
Golf cart shuttles will be available for transportation to and from the Sparks and Atkinson parking lots, as well as around campus during the weekend. Shuttles will be continuously circulating.
Can I bring my RV?
You're welcome to park your RV on the south side of the Sparks parking lot while you're on campus, but overnight stays and gatherings are not allowed on University grounds.
7. Weather & Comfort
What should I pack?
Remember that this is Oregon, and you'll likely need to be prepared for a variety of temperatures and weather. Keep an eye on the forecast when packing.
How should I dress?
Events are casual, but many will choose to dress up for class reunion dinners. Northwest dress is the order of the weekend.
