2012 Summer Research Project from Brianne Davila

Educational outreach programs have relied on the use of data in order to inform their policies and practices.

In an effort to build a community partnership with Willamette Academy, this project seeks to develop a long-term plan for systematic data collection and analysis. The goals of the project are to better understand the educational outcomes (intended and unintended) that result from participation in the academy for its multiple stakeholders: Willamette Academy students, families, and Willamette University students and identifying ways to improve the services provided to its stakeholders. This project is in its preliminary stages. This summer, I will be focused on conducting a review of the literature and collecting qualitative data (observations and in-depth interviews).
