You must take a placement test before you wish to register for a Japanese class above the 100 level. You can choose either Online Test or Print Out Test option. The contents are the same in both options.
I. Online Test
- Start with Part 1 of the Japanese Placement Test. (Required)
- If you seek placement at 300 level or above, take Part 2 of the Japanese Placement Test after completing the Part 1 of the Japanese Placement Test.
Notes:
Some questions require you to handwrite answers in Japanese on a sheet of paper and upload it as a PDF file. Label the PDF file with your last name. You can use a free app in your mobile device to convert a picture into a PDF file.

II. Print Out Test
1. Please download and print the Placement PDF.
Once you have completed the test, submit it in PDF format as an email attachment to japanese-placement-test@willamette.edu
