In Mulieribus and Portland Youth Philharmonic present the World Premiere of Jessica Meyer's new composition, Because I Will Not Despair. Meyer's composition is commissed by In Mulieribus and the Portland Youth Philharmonic.

Meyer's new work is paired with Hurry to the Light, composed by Emmy Award-winner Kareem Roustom. Rouston's 2019 piece is a setting of excerpts from Emily Wilson's new, highly-acclaimed English translation of Homer's Odyssey — the first woman to translate this epic text.
