Biography
Mark M. Walter, CPA, brings over two decades of experience as a financial data analyst, specializing in transforming data into actionable insights. His journey into business intelligence began in 2013 when he discovered Power Pivot within Excel. In 2015, Mark transitioned to Power BI, where he focused on combining technically sound data models and analysis with effective data storytelling.Mark leverages business intelligence in a consultative sales capacity, where he collaborates with customers to identify profit opportunities in their businesses. He is passionate about empowering others who share an interest in data and actively engages in the Microsoft Power Platform and Fabric community.
Mark currently serves as the Director of Business Intelligence at Industrial Finishes and Systems, Inc., headquartered in Eugene, Oregon. Additionally, he works as an adjunct professor, teaching Business Analytics in Power BI. Mark earned his degree in Finance from Western Washington University and holds a Certified Public Accountant license in Oregon. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with his spouse, two children, and their two active dogs, Lexi and Sam.
