Program Information

Willamette University’s Master’s in Computer Science program is designed for students who want to develop not just technical skills, but a deep understanding of how computer systems are tied to the modern human experience. With our in-person, evening structure, this program is built for both working professionals and recent college graduates. The Master’s in Computer Science is offered at our Portland campus.

PROGRAM DESIGN

  • The flexible structure of the program allows students to set their own pace and complete the MS in Computer Science in 12, 18, or 24 months.
  • Students must complete a total of 9 classes and a minimum of 32 credits to earn the MS in Computer Science.
  • Classes are scheduled once per week in the evening so students can work while enrolled in the program.
  • The program features the resources and course offerings of a large university while modest class sizes offer our students the quality and attention of a small school.
  • The coursework is designed for both Computer Science majors and non-majors who have moderate understanding of programming.
  • Over the course of the program, students will take classes that cover the various facets of computer science from technical skills to challenging notions of responsibility and ethics.
